Sometimes wasting time can be so inspiring. The sun is shining, there is writing to be done, a dog to be walked, house to be cleaned. And yet. There is something so nice about being in my bed with dog, cat, computer and an assortment of books at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Monday. Sure, an afternoon at the coffee shop might be slightly more productive (or, hey, maybe even the library!), but with an hour to spare before working when I'm not scheduled to, a warm bed with a purring cat is going to do just fine.
Who knew the internet was full of such wonderful and inspiring things?!? Probably everyone, but I am always late to the game. I've been obsessively reading blogs written by fabulous people, forgetting that I should be working on my thesis. Hell, I just had a huge break, a vacation that revitalized me. And Yet. I still can't bring myself to sit down and write this thing. I want to do creative things, I want to paint and sew and draw and carve...
Perhaps a schedule would be good. Discipline is something I lack, to a degree at least.
What would you do?
